Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

1. Introduction

Speak Indigenous is a Cree language learning application and website operated by JDP Software Solutions (Saskatchewan, Canada). This Privacy Policy explains what information the current production version of Speak Indigenous collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

2. Information Collected by the App

Speak Indigenous does not require a user account and does not ask you to create a login. The current production app does not collect personal information such as your name or email address unless you choose to contact us.

When you use the website or the mobile app that loads the website, our hosting provider may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and request logs as part of operating and securing the service.

3. Learning Progress and Device Storage

Quiz scores, lesson progress indicators, and similar learning activity in the current app are handled in the browser or app session. They are not sent to a remote learning database in this release, and they are not tied to a user account.

If you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, session-based activity may be lost.

4. Information Users Choose to Provide

You may voluntarily provide personal information when you:

Contact form submissions on the website are validated in your browser and stored only in temporary local page memory in the current build. They are not transmitted to a remote database or email service until a server-side integration is enabled. Support emails you send are received in our email inbox.

5. Analytics and Crash Reporting

The current production build does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or crash-reporting SDKs such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or Sentry.

6. Advertising and Tracking

Speak Indigenous does not display advertising, does not use advertising identifiers for tracking, and does not engage in cross-app advertising tracking in the current release.

7. Microphone and Audio

The app may use on-device text-to-speech (browser or system speech synthesis) to play pronunciation examples. This feature does not record your microphone or upload audio recordings. The current release does not request microphone access for speech recognition or voice recording.

8. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. Information you send by email may be processed by our email provider. Website hosting may involve our hosting provider (currently Vercel) processing technical server logs. We share information only as needed to operate the service, respond to support requests, or comply with applicable law.

9. Data Retention

Support emails are retained as long as needed to respond to your request and maintain ordinary business records. Hosting logs are retained according to our hosting provider's standard practices. Session learning activity is not retained on our servers in this release.

10. Children's Privacy

Speak Indigenous is designed for language learners of different ages, including use by families and schools. The current app does not require accounts and does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what a user voluntarily sends by email or form. Parents, guardians, and educators should supervise use as appropriate for their learners.

11. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS for website traffic, to help protect the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. User Choices and Requests

You may contact us to ask questions about this policy or to request correction or deletion of personal information you have provided by email, where applicable. Contact jaydepelly@gmail.com.

13. Third-Party Services

The production website is hosted on Vercel. The mobile apps are Capacitor wrappers that load the live website. On-device speech synthesis may use the device or browser speech engine. No other third-party analytics, advertising, authentication, or payment services are integrated in the current production build.

14. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Speak Indigenous after changes means you acknowledge the updated policy.
