1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Speak Indigenous (the website, mobile apps, or related services), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Purpose of the App
Speak Indigenous supports Cree language learning, including vocabulary, syllabics, pronunciation practice, lessons, and memorization activities. The service is intended for educational and language revitalization purposes.
3. Respectful Use
You must interact respectfully with learners, educators, Elders, language keepers, communities, and Indigenous language content. Harassment, hate, or misuse of cultural or language materials is not allowed.
4. Language and Dialect Variations
Cree words, pronunciation, spelling, syllabics, and usage can vary by dialect, community, region, and speaker. Content in Speak Indigenous is provided for educational purposes and should not be treated as the only acceptable form of the language.
5. Educational Content
The app provides educational material and practice tools. It is not a substitute for instruction from fluent speakers, teachers, Elders, or language keepers.
6. Intellectual Property
The application, interface, software, design, branding, and original content are owned by JDP Software Solutions or used with permission. Language knowledge, cultural knowledge, and contributed material may come from speakers, teachers, Elders, communities, or partners and must be treated respectfully.
7. Prohibited Use
Users may not:
- Copy or redistribute protected app content without permission
- Scrape or automatically extract app content
- Reverse engineer or interfere with the service
- Use the app for unlawful or harmful purposes
- Misrepresent app content as their own
- Harass or harm other people through the platform
8. Availability and Updates
Features, lessons, content, and availability may be updated over time. Temporary interruptions may occur for maintenance, hosting issues, or improvements.
9. Disclaimer
Speak Indigenous is provided on an “as available” basis. We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate educational content, but we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted availability.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, JDP Software Solutions is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Speak Indigenous. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use as the service evolves. The current revision date appears at the top of this page. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the applicable laws of Saskatchewan and Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
